The company was founded in March 2015 with an ambition to become the best Indian restaurant in Norway, which is our goal and the standard that we want to work towards. The restaurant is situated in Trondheim, Norway’s 3rd largest city, within the metropolitan area. Our location is in a large basement/cellar a spaceful area, within one of the inner city central food, restaurant & court areas, with several bars, hotels and other types of restaurant in near vicinity.
We are today 6 people working in the restaurant, and we wish to expand our restaurant with a better and more experienced Sous chef. The restaurant have the possibility to seat up to 120 guests. We wish to give our customer an insight view to taste the best of both North Indian and South Indian food.
Those who work here have an international background. Since the Head Chef is of South India/Tamil background, someone who also has that background would be most suitable given the work environment of the kitchen.
We are looking for a Sous Chef to assist the head chef, to be able to both work alone or together with kitchen staff, to be able to make catering/take away orders, while also make food for regular in-house guests. To be able to set up new menus, depending on season, and be able to professionally advance the restaurant together with head chef to the next level. To be able to improve with the logistic of the kitchen and supplies. Be able to keep the economics of the kitchen within the budget plans. Be able to produce food with a distinct Indian flavour of both North and South Indian palett.
- education as a chef with diploma a 2-3 years specialized study
- preferably a nationality chef specialized in Indian traditional and modern cooking and food with both North and South Indian palett
- at least 3-5 years of experience with catering and kitchen finances
- can speak English or Norwegian
- understanding/knowledge of Tamil would be an advantage
Working hours: A regular 100% working hour, 37.5 hours a week (40), 8 hour work days.
Place of work: Trondheim, Norway
Start date: As soon as possible.
Salary: Norwegian Tariff, according to the standard set by agreements in the Riksavtale by NHO.
Accommodation, room and board will be given as accommodation support.
According to Norwegian law, holiday pay & a regular pension payment plan is followed. There is no severance payment, except from a one month salary upon determination of work contract.
